About Manila Beauty

About

Curated, not aggregated.
Always personal.

Manila Beauty is Metro Manila's most authoritative curated guide to premium beauty, spa, and wellness. We are not a booking platform, an aggregator, or a pay-to-play directory. Every listing has been personally evaluated by a named editor.

Who We Are

Manila's most demanding beauty editors

Manila Beauty was founded on a single conviction: that Metro Manila is home to world-class beauty talent, and that talent deserves an editorial platform worthy of it. We don't aggregate. We don't accept payment for placement. We don't publish until we've experienced the service ourselves.

Every listing in our directory has been personally evaluated by a named member of our editorial team — and we're prepared to say so publicly. Our editors are identified by name on every article, every review, and every comparison. Anonymous publishing is not our model.

We are not a booking platform. We do not earn commission from appointments. We do not receive product or treatment in exchange for positive coverage. Our revenue comes from listing fees charged after editorial acceptance — never from the act of recommendation itself.

Our Criteria

Five Dimensions of Excellence

Every listing is evaluated across all five criteria before acceptance. A score below our editorial threshold in any single dimension results in a declined application.

Technique Mastery

We assess practitioner qualifications, certifications, continuing education, and quality of outcomes through verified client testimonials and direct observation.

Interior Environment

The space should command the price. We evaluate cleanliness, material quality, atmosphere, sound design, and the overall sensory experience.

Service Culture

From how you're greeted to how a consultation is conducted — we measure attentiveness, knowledge depth, and genuine hospitality across multiple visits.

Price Transparency

We require establishments to provide clear, upfront pricing. Hidden fees, bait-and-switch promotions, and pressure-selling are automatic disqualifiers.

Google Maps Reputation

We analyze review patterns, response rates, and sentiment trends. Volume alone doesn't qualify — consistency and recency matter.

S

Editorial Director

Sofia Reyes

Sofia has covered Metro Manila's luxury beauty and wellness industry for over a decade. Every listing in Manila Beauty Guide is personally evaluated across four criteria: practitioner qualification, treatment quality, facility standard, and service culture. No listing fee is accepted. No sponsored ranking exists.

“Our standard is simple: if I would not recommend it to a close friend, it does not appear in this directory. There are no exceptions.”

— Sofia Reyes, Editorial Director

How We Evaluate

Practitioner Qualification

We verify DOH licensing, PRC physician certification, and confirm fellowship credentials for all injectable and laser treatment providers.

Treatment Quality

Our editors personally experience each treatment and document outcomes, technique precision, and adherence to international safety protocols.

Facility Standard

We assess cleanliness, material quality, equipment calibration standards, and the overall clinical environment against international benchmarks.

Service Culture

From consultation to post-treatment follow-up — we measure attentiveness, transparency in pricing, and the absence of high-pressure upselling.

The Team

Named Editors, Real Accountability

Every piece of content on this platform carries a byline. We believe anonymous editorial is unaccountable editorial. Our editors are real people with verifiable credentials and the professional reputation to protect.

Editorial Standards

What we will never do

  • Accept payment in exchange for a positive review or guaranteed listing

  • Publish a listing that has not been personally visited by a named editor

  • Influence editorial verdicts based on advertising relationships

  • Remove a negative assessment in exchange for payment or commercial consideration

  • Credit editorial content to an anonymous author

What we always do

  • Visit every establishment in person before publishing any listing

  • Credit all content to a named editor with verifiable credentials

  • Disclose any commercial relationships transparently in the relevant content

  • Update listings when standards change — in either direction

  • Decline applications that do not meet our five evaluation criteria
